He's been a fixture of DC jazz and swing for 20 years. The focus on guitar is recent and for many reasons. "The guitar is perfect for jazz. It's portable. It's intimate all alone, but can also fill a room with drums and bass. Notes can bend and slur like a horn's...a perfect tool for limitless expression." The content for expression? Porter, Gershwin. In May 2024, Margaret released her self-titled debut studio album featuring an original jazz composition, “Burning.” Critics described her album as “beautiful,” “ethereal,” and “angelic.” In October 2024, Margaret released her single, “I Need Him,” an epic synth-rock anthem. The evening begins with swing and salsa dance lessons followed by a haunted battle of the bands as a swing and salsa band takes the stage to perform music for an unforgettable Halloween Soiree under the stars with spectacular views of the Washington DC skyline as a backdrop.

In the spirit of Halloween, we invite you to come dressed in your most creative costume with awards being given to the two best costumes! Our previous rooftop soirees sold out in advance, so please reserve your tickets now, as space is limited. The event is outdoors on the rooftop so please DRESS WARM!

Experience an unforgettable Halloween celebration at the Ven at Embassy Row, Washington DC’s premiere boutique hotel in the heart of Dupont Circle, for an unforgettable experience of networking and socializing as we present to you a dance soiree under the stars with dancing to live music with the Washington skyline as a spectacular backdrop.

Dylan Gallagher

Dylan Gallagher is a Northern Virginia-based music director and do-it-all multi-instrumentalist covering everything from traditional sacred music, contemporary praise & worship and secular music to live sound engineering, music production and more.

He currently serves the Catholic church as the Assistant Music Director at the GMU Catholic Campus Ministry and the Director of EXALT Ministries for the Arlington Diocese's Office of Young Adult Ministry.  EXALT is a music ministry focused on serving parish communities by providing music during events with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament across the Diocese.

While Dylan can cover keys, drums & bass guitar, he is most at home as a guitarist and vocalist.  His roots are in blues, jazz, rock and country, drawing influences from the likes of John Mayer, The Bros Landreth, Ariel Posen, Tom Misch, Marcus King, Zac Brown and so many others.

When he's not doing music, he is either working his day job in Facilities & Property Management or out on adventures with his wonderful wife and 2 sons.

Experience the Tango, one of the most passionate dances that brings to life the romance of 1930s Buenos Aires as you make new friends. A dance partner or prior dance experience are not needed to attend.

You are welcome to attend on your own or with friends. We’ll have you dancing the Argentine Tango as it is danced in Buenos Aires, even if you have never danced before! The Argentine Tango is known around the world for its romance and bold flair and this is your rare opportunity to learn the Argentine tango from an expert instructor as you meet ICDC members in a friendly and relaxed setting.

During the lesson you will learn the proper Argentinean Tango embrace, as we may delve into the Caminata, Salida, Baldosa, and Resolution -- elements of the dance. After the lesson, enjoy an elegant tango performance high in color and elegance, commemorating the glamorous years of 1930s Argentina that will transport you to a magical tango soiree in Buenos Aires to practice your newly learned tango skills.

After the lesson, dance the evening away with a practice tango dance party at one of DuPont Circle's most fashionable venues, as you meet and socialize with other friendly ICDC members.

Brian, on saxophones, is a music teacher, performer, and composer with over 15 years of experience. Brian is professionally trained with a bachelor’s degree in music composition from Shepherd University and a master’s degree in music composition from Columbia College Chicago.

Ryan, on drums, is a freelance musician and has performed in the DMV area for years on both drum set and orchestral percussion. Ryan is professionally trained with a bachelor’s degree in music composition from Shepherd University.
