Whether you're just starting or looking to refine your technique, these camps will help you glide across the dance floor with confidence. CAMP 1: Oct 3, 4, 6, 8 (4 sessions) FOUNDATIONAL TECHNIQUE: This first camp will slowly but surely teach you the basic skills in the Viennese Waltz to prepare you for this incredible experience, with a series of advancing lessons. You will learn basics of social Waltzing along with some elements of Smooth, Standard, folks! By the end, you will have developed skills that will enable you to function socially in any Viennese Waltz setting, and you will also make a lot of dance friends while doing so.

Thu, 3 Oct, 730-930 pm: Fundamentals of Viennese Waltz, basics, simple left turns, whisks w/ladies turn, practice
Fri, 4 Oct 730-930 pm: Practice, Review, basic combos, progressive basic, Patty-cake, simple right turns, Navigational skills
Sun, 6 Oct, 1-330 pm: Practice, Review, simple left and right turns, polka, choreography 1
Tue, 8 Oct, 730-930 pm: Practice, warm-up. Review of left and right simple turns, introduction of reverse turn (International style left turn), navigation drill. Discussion of balls in Vienna (at the break). The session concludes with learning the Fledermaus Quadrille #6.

CAMP 2: Oct 15, 17, 18 (3 sessions) EXPERIENCED WALTZERS (INTERMEDIATE AND UP): Camp 2 is for the connoisseur! You will advance in technique and knowledge of multiple fast waltz styles, including the classic International Style, American Smooth, and a few steps that have been almost lost to history that you might have seen in such movies as The Sound of Music and Snow White. We will also teach a routine that will advance in each session.

Tue, 15 Oct, 730-930 pm: Natural turn technique improvements. Transitions from Reverse turn to natural and back. Fledermaus Quadrille #6.
Thu, 17 Oct, 730-930 pm: Practice, Review, Separation to half fleckerl , closed changes from left to right and right to left, fifth position break, run around, intermediate choreography. Fun polka step.
Fri 18 Oct, 730-930 pm: Practice, Review, intermediate choreography continues, advanced navigation drills, fleckerl!
