Surround yourself with DC's vibrant community of young professionals as the evening unfolds. Enjoy the rhythm of a live 1920s-inspired band and immerse yourself in an atmosphere of romance and nostalgia, ensuring your Valentine’s Day weekend is unforgettable.

This is more than an event—it’s your chance to step inside a story, where timeless romance and elegance come alive, creating an unforgettable evening inspired by the grandeur of the Titanic.

Dance the Night Away

Begin your evening with a beginner’s dance lesson, perfect for all skill levels. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned dancer, you’ll feel right at home as you learn steps to classic ballroom dances. Following the lesson, the floor will open for everyone to showcase their moves to the sounds of a live 1920s-inspired band that will fill the room with rhythm and excitement.

An Evening of Timeless Elegance

The Heritage Hall Ballroom at Hotel Heron offers a breathtaking setting for this memorable evening. With its soaring double-height ceilings and grand windows on both sides, the ballroom exudes timeless charm and elegant design, making it the perfect backdrop for a night of romance and celebration. While we’ve drawn inspiration from the opulence of the Titanic era, the decor and ambiance will focus on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all guests to enjoy.

Indulge in Fine Food and Drinks

Savor a variety of signature and classic cocktails, wines, and desserts available for purchase at the bar.

Looking for a full dining experience? Arrive early to enjoy dinner at Kiln, Hotel Heron’s signature restaurant. With its open kitchen centered around a live-fire hearth, Kiln offers a unique opportunity to watch as locally sourced, Mid-Atlantic-inspired dishes are thoughtfully prepared. From the warm glow at the corner of Prince and Washington, Kiln invites guests to enjoy seasonal cuisine that highlights the best ingredients the region has to offer.

Live Music by The Craig Guildner Band

With a love for the masters like Van Eps, Ellis, Montgomery, Burrell and Kessel plus an appreciation of all music old and new, his trio is able to do both. He's been a fixture of DC jazz and swing for 20 years. The focus on guitar is recent and for many reasons. "The guitar is perfect for jazz. It's portable. It's intimate all alone, but can also fill a room with drums and bass. Notes can bend and slur like a horn's...a perfect tool for limitless expression." The content for expression? Porter, Gershwin. Van Heusen, Berlin...but also Lennon-McCartney, Bacharach, Jobim and even Nora Jones.  Add silky smooth vocals to this trio, and you have an extremely versatile and accessible group.

Craig plays a Moll John Pizzarelli 7 string arch top guitar, a Gibson L7 or ES175 depending on the mood.
